Red Bull’s Cliff Diving competition is about to hit the circuit again

Seven dives in seven countries between June and September in Europe, North America and the Middle East. If you follow this site you will know the formula, if not – here it is again: eleven athletes will compete head-to-head for the prestigious World Series title in and on:

Corsica | FRANCE | June 22 – 23
Grimstad | NORWAY | July 6 – 7
Azores | PORTUGAL | July 20 – 21
Inis Mór| IRELAND | August 3 – 4
Boston | USA | August 24 – 25
Pembrokeshire, South Wales | UNITED KINGDOM | September 7 – 8
Wadi Shab | OMAN | September 27 – 28

And this is what lies in store for us:

You might remember that Orlando Duque had to pull out from last year’s competition due to an injury, not I hasten to add, sustained whilst cliff diving, but acquired whilst taking part in another extreme sport – skydiving! “I was skydiving and while landing I broke my foot, so for this season I might fall out for the rest of the stops,” admitted Duque. Sad news for spectators, but Gary Hunt didn’t disappoint with a fantastic season and a sensational final weekend.

Duque’s back in this year so the competition between him, Hunt, Silchencko and the other formidable athletes will be intense.

Kicking off on the island of Corsica where the divers jump from ancient citadel walls located on a cliff, followed by six further stops, we will be watching this event avidly! It starts in just 15 days. Whoopee!
