Crowded surf

How not to behave when out surfing

When the surf’s up it can be worse than Piccadilly at rush hour, and people’s tempers’ run short. However, there is an etiquette to surfing as there is in any other walk in life, and the essence is to respect the natives be they Australian, Hawaiian… whatever… if it’s their beach they are the natives. Don’t be greedy, share the limited space harmoniously. There is nothing worse than queue jumpers who are willing to take a couple on the head to get out quicker.

Here’s a video which shows what happens when it all goes wrong!

Surf rage

First rule of surfing in crowds is… don’t surf in crowds!   Very simple.
