Burn presents: BLACK SNOW

This teaser really is a teaser. There’s not much there, but the short film, which premiers at the Golden Reels Award Ceremony at The Reels Snowboard Film Festival in Annecy on 22 September, will do more than whet the appetite.

Directed and filmed by Johannes Östergaard and Richard Prendergast, this short film was shot inside Europe’s largest indoor snow dome in Landgraaf, The Netherlands using pioneering lighting techniques including UV/black light, LED and laser by lighting specialists Lighting Analysts and The Light Surgeons.

These, combined with custom-built obstacles, created a unique snowboarding environment where Gigi Ruf, Ulrik Badertscher, Ståle Sandbech and Gulli Gudmundsson could show off their skills.

Burn presents: BLACK SNOW

Austrian born Gigi Ruf is one of the world’s greatest snowboarders. Born and brought up in the Austrian Alps he spent his youth ripping around the natural terrain that his local mountains provided. Now a  professional snowboarder, he is known for his unique style and creativity.

Norwegian Ulrik Badertschis’ claim to fame is that he was the first person to land a 1620 (four and a half rotations) and in December 2011 he won the Beijing Air & Style with his newly-mastered double back side rodeo 1260. A quiet kind of guy, he lets his snowboarding skills talk for themself. This video was taken in New Zealand this August:

Ståle Sandbech is another impressive young rider from Norway. He excels on the slopestyle course as well as in the halfpipe, bringing big spins, clean grabs and style to everything he does including his incredibly technical riding on the rails.

This trio will ensure the success of the short film produced by Burn Energy Drink.
