re-sized Isle of Wight

Isle Of Wight Extreme Sports Festival

One for the diary – make sure you don’t miss out on the Isle of Wight’s very own extreme sport festival which will be held between the 18th – 21st September. Whether you want to just watch, participate or even try out some of the extreme sports on offer if you are on the south coast of England this is a ‘must’.

White Air is an international multi-sport festival: Windsurfing, Kitesurfing and Surfing make up some of the extreme watersports events whilst disciplines such as Mountain Boarding, Skate and BMX ensure an action-packed programme on land as well as water. The event is based at the ‘White Air’ village on the seafront at Yaverland, near Sandown, on the Island’s east coast.

In 2007, over 500 visitors took advantage of the ‘Have a Go’ taster sessions (open to anyone aged eight and over) including free ocean kayak, windsurfing, surfing, paragliding, Thundercat powerboat and kitesurfing sessions. Paragliding has been added giving you the opportunity to see the Island from the air. Try the latest gear from various manufacturers as well as being taught by professionals.

Besides the extreme sporting events there will be concerts and many other attractions to keep the adrenaline pumping throughout the four day festival.
