Extreme Backyarding: Florida’s World Champion Wakeskater

The quest continues for the best extreme backyards. This time we in Groveland, Florida with World Champion Wakeskater Reed Hansen. Reed with his father Andy, built this professional wakeskating pond known as Battle Falls in his own backyard. Mark Wills gets an inside look at his extreme backyard.

A little about Reed Hansen

Born in Orlando, Florida in April 1990, he currently resides in Groveland, Florida. Reed first learned how to wakeskate in 2000, but it wasn’t until 2004 that he became hooked. In 2008, Reed became the 2nd person to sweep three Toe Jam events in one stop – Cable, Boat and PWC.

Here are a few of Reed’s accomplishes

  • 5-time WWA World Champion
  • 4-time Toe Jam Champion
  • 2-time Transworld Wake Wakeskater of the Year and
  • 2011 Alliance Wake Rider of the Year
