Another new record for WATER SKIING

Mexican water-skier Fernando Reina Iglesias has set a new world record for fastest ever barefoot water skiing. The successful stunt was achieved in Acapulco with the help of a helicopter! Towed behind the helicopter he reached a staggering speed of 153 miles (246 km) per hour..

The local businessman and lawmaker for the Partido Verde Ecologista (Green Party) broke the previous record of 135 miles/h (217 km) set 22 years ago in 1989 by American Scott Pellaton.

Public notary Manlio Favio Pano witnessed the event and corroborated that Reina reached the record-breaking speed, which has been recognised by the Guinness Book of World Records.

Iglesias dedicated his record to his hometown and hopes his stunt will help increase Acapulco’s popularity as a tourist destination!
