Paralympics – ParaXtreme

I imagine there isn’t anyone out there who is not enjoying the Paralympics. They are so incredibly inspirational, absolutely amazing, and, I hate to say this, but I think I am enjoying them more that the Olympics! It’s almost the best lesson in life that anyone can learn…. make the most of yourself whatever the disadvantages!

We salute all the Paralympians.

However, the Paralympics is not what I’m writing about today. I want to write about Paraxtreme! I’d never thought about it before, but just because something puts you into a wheelchair doesn’t mean your heart and soul doesn’t yearn for a bit of excitement. No reason why people with handicaps shouldn’t be adrenaline junkies too.

Take Ollie Hancock trying out street luge:

Or Ricky Owens who was determined to conquer a back-flip on a BMX in one day:

UK pro Jason Phelan is working on an  interesting project, one that will show the world that there’s more to Para sport than just track and field. So, to coincide with the Paralympics in London they have hooked up with a few guys who share their creativity and love of action sports to find the next paralympic one…

How’s about this one? Aaron “Wheels” Fotheringham – poetry in motion!

And who, might you ask, is Jason Phelan. Well, if you don’t already know, then this video will give you a brief introduction…
