re-sized AdventureCORPS Presents the 2010 Badwater Ultramarathon-1

Only a few more hours left to register for the Badwater Ultra-Marathon

AdventureCORPS hosts the Badwater Ultra-marathon every year in July and you have until the end of  tomorrow (15th February) to sign up for it if you haven’t already done so.

Recognised globally as “the world’s toughest foot race” this legendary event pits approximately 90 of the world’s toughest athletes—runners, triathletes, adventure racers, and mountaineers — against one another and the elements, a true “challenge of the champions”. Covering 135 miles (217km) non-stop from Death Valley to Mt. Whitney, California, in temperatures up to 130F (55c), it is the most demanding and extreme running race offered anywhere on the planet. And, on top of all that, there is a 48-hr time limit to finish the race!

This will be the 35th anniversary of the race and the dates are 16th – 18th July, 2012. To register go directly to the site ie: follow the link! … you only have until the end of tomorrow…

Even then it is not guaranteed that you have a place. Applicants will be considered purely upon their race application and its specific written merits. No applicant is guaranteed entry, including race veterans.

It is anticipated that the 2012 race field will include men and women from a dozen or more countries and at least two dozen American states, veterans and rookies, as well as physically challenged athletes.

Planning your gear list makes all the difference to your race. Take time to think through scenarios and have backup items in case other items fail or things don’t go as expected…
